The longhouse is a vacation house located on the west coast of Denmark.

The house consists of to volumes; one for living and the other for storage. 

Separating the two volumes and letting the roof continue across creates a covered intimate space that expands the functions of the house, but also the seasons.

 

The house is cladded in a horisontal black painted pine to enhance the length of the house. The shutters is a continuous motive through the house to prevent the strong winds from the west and to keep some privacy from the nearby neighbors.
