Patina Arkitekter is an architectural practice that specialises in smaller scale projects from additions, alterations and transformations to new buildings.

With patina as a central motif, the purpose of the architectural practice is to revive an approach to architecture that tells a story of the passage of time, giving buildings character and soul, as well as fostering an ambition to once again construct buildings that endure and that we cherish..

With an investigative starting point, I work with constructions and materials, which associations they evoke and which atmospheric expressions they can contribute to. I design with imagination and empathy and develop my projects with a fascination for construction techniques and constructive elements, which inform and shape the aesthetic appearance of the projects. I believe it is important to choose materials carefully, detail them thoroughly and understand how they will age.

By consciously addressing the aging of architecture over time, patina can not only evoke and support our architectural expression, but also help strengthen architecture's ability to age.
A building's encounter with the sky and the ground it stands on, as well as its details - overhangs, parapets, roofing and sacrificial and water boards - is not just a historical reference, but an expression of a culture-based use of knowledge about how our buildings can survive and with beauty.
